There are affordable ground transportation options for getting from MSP to St. Olaf College.
Northfield Lines’ Metro Express provides daily bus service between St. Olaf College, MSP and other Minneapolis-St. Paul locations. The fare directly from MSP Terminal 1 to Institute registration at St. Olaf is $15, and the trip takes about one hour. The daily schedule is available online and downloadable here. Please note that the weekend schedule differs from weekday. If you arrive at Terminal 2, the airport offers a free Light Rail Transit service between terminals.
Similar to a taxi service, EcoTrans is economical, especially for 2-4 people sharing one trip. Email friends to plan a ride share with others arriving around the same time. EcoTrans is available at both MSP terminals. EcoTrans also offers group rates for 15 passenger vans up to a 23 passenger mini bus if you are able to organize a larger group of travellers arriving together.
Want to find someone to share a ride? Post a message on our Institute Facebook forum to connect with others arriving around the same time.
Both on and off airport car rentals are available at MSP. A vehicle would not be required if you are staying on campus at St. Olaf, but would be needed for those using hotels or wanting to further explore the Northfield and Minneapolis/St. Paul areas.
MSP’s Light Rail Transit system also provides free transportation to and from Mall of America, if you have a long wait for your ground transportation or your flight home.
