Would You Like to Perform for a Master Teacher at the 2017 Institute?
There are several opportunities for participation in masterclasses! Apply (below) by April 15th (extended!).
Kathleen Bride has been Professor of Harp at Eastman School of Music since 1989 and has performed and taught extensively throughout the world. Ms. Bride, who started studying with Marcel Grandjany as a child, and completed her studies with him at The Juilliard School, will be giving a masterclass on his compositions of any level. This includes beginning, intermediate and advanced performers.
Emily Levin is Principal Harpist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and bronze medal winner of the 9th USA International Harp Competition. Ms. Levin will share her experiences preparing for orchestral auditions and international harp competitions, which will be followed by a master class focusing on orchestra excerpts and solo repertoire for competitions.
Lynn Williams is Principal Harpist with the Chicago Lyric Opera Orchestra. In addition, Ms. Williams has played Principal Harp with the Chicago Symphony and has appeared with many other major orchestras. She is the head of the harp department at Roosevelt University in Chicago and the founder of the Chicago Harp Quartet. Lynn will be giving an opera and orchestral excerpt masterclass.
